Lisa Maurer, DO – Vice President of Medical Affairs
Dr. Lisa Maurer received her undergraduate education from the University of Dayton and her graduate degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a Family Medicine internship and residency at Doctors Hospital.
Dr. Maurer is certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians with Subspecialty Board Certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine for the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has been practicing in central Ohio since 1995 and joined Hospice of Central Ohio as an Associate Medical Director in 2012.
Associate Medical Directors
Dr. Carl Waggoner received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University Hospitals and his graduate degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He spent two years of surgical residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and completed his residency at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Waggoner is board certified by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as the American Board of Family Medicine. He has been practicing in Newark, Ohio since 1989 and joined Hospice of Central Ohio in 2006.
Central Ohio Geriatrics
Dr. John Weigand graduated from the University of Akron and received his graduate education from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Akron City Hospital.
Dr. Weigand is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Certified Medical Director by the American Medical Directors Association. He has been practicing in central Ohio since 1992 and serves as the president of Central Ohio Geriatrics. Dr. Weigand joined Hospice of Central Ohio in 2010 as an Associate Medical Director.

Thomas K. Petryk, MD
Dr. Thomas Petryk graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Grant Medical Center. Dr. Petryk is board certified by the American Board of Family Physicians and has been practicing in family medicine in central Ohio since 1993. He joined Hospice of Central Ohio in 2004 and serves as an Associate Medical Director.
